Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Support

The Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service will be delivered by Milton Keynes Council from 01 April 2020.

Working across the many different services and communities within Milton Keynes, the Young People's Drug and Alcohol Team will offer support to both groups and individuals in schools and across other settings.  The team will also support young people who have been negatively impacted by others’ drug or alcohol use.

This move will help the Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Team to deliver a more integrated and collaborative service.  It will include both universal and targeted drug and alcohol prevention interventions and specialist support for young people who are;

• at risk of harm from drug and/or alcohol misuse

• already experiencing problematic drug and/or alcohol misuse

• being negatively impacted through living with someone else’s misuse, for example parents, siblings or peers

The Drug and Alcohol Practitioners will be based at the Rivers Centre in Trent Road, Bletchley and will also be co-located with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), the Youth Offending Service (YOS), Children’s Social Care and Corporate Parenting.  This will help to enable effective joint working and multi-agency approaches to supporting young people.
