Our year in review: Annual Report 2025-6

In our latest Annual Report, we show that listening to people’s health and care experiences and giving them a voice is more important than ever.

It's fair to say that this has not been a straightforward year. Back in June 2025, the Government announced its intention to dismantle both national and local Healthwatch. What followed has been one of the most challenging and demanding periods for us.

That is why we're particularly proud to share the impact of our work in Milton Keynes. We've listened to our communities, gathered evidence, influenced improvements to services, and uncovered persistent issues in NHS and care services.

As this is likely to be our last ever Annual Report, it also represents an important reminder of the opportunities that arise when you genuinely listen to patients, take on their feedback, and put those experiences at the centre of health and care services.

Some of the highlights from our Annual Report include:

  • Talking about the end: palliative and end-of-life care for people with mental ill health, addiction or trauma.
  • Improving experiences for people staying on wards at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
  • Exploring how residents from MK's Hong Kong community experience local health services.
  • Opening up opportunities and tackling misconceptions about health research.
