Mind BLMK Young People's Sanctuary announces closure
The YPS opened in January 2024 as the only out of hours mental health service that offered walk-in support for young people in an immediate mental health crisis. Mind BLMK offered one to one sessions with trained mental health professionals and have successfully supported a many young people going through mental health crisis.
The service was funded by the NHS East of England Provider Collaborative and Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust, as an 18-month pilot service.
In their official statement, Mind BLMK have said:
"Due to the current financial pressures within the mental health system, funding is no longer available and we are no longer able to continue despite best efforts to find alternative funding. The YPS service will close on the 30th of November 2025.
We are now working hard to ensure our service users are aware of alternative options of support and we will be working closely with NHS CAMHS and the Integrated Care Board to ensure they understand the diverse needs of our service users."
