Milton Keynes University Hospital ranks 73rd out of 134 in league tables

The NHS has this week released its hospital league table.
Milton Keynes University Hospital

Out of 134 NHS hospital trusts across England, Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) was ranked at number 73 (performance segment 3).

The NHS league tables are available to the public and they show each hospital trust's league table position and 'segment', or performance category.

NHS England says it has used a new way to assess hospital trusts using a range of 'financial and operational measurements'.

The NHS England ranking method is not all based on feedback or evidence of patient care. MKUH run their own 'friends and family data' research. Their most recent results for 2025, which reflect the same period of time covered by the NHS England league table are as follows:

  • 28,791 comments through their compliments and Friends and Family Test
  • 92% rated their experience as 'good' or 'very good'

MKUH Chief Executive Joe Harrison responded to the league tables:

"Our league table position reflects the steady focus we have seen across all MKUH teams to maintain high standards of financial management and improve patient experience.

“MKUH has always been a transparent and accountable organisation that is clear with the local community about where things are going well, and where they need to be better. We will use the NHS...data, alongside the patient feedback we get every day, to shape our plans in a way that gives the public value for money, quality care.”
