New stoma prescription service launches in MK

There's a new prescription service in place for residents of Milton Keynes who currently have a stoma.

The service will look after the prescribing of your stoma products, supported by a team of specially-trained personal advisors and specialist stoma nurses.

Stoma products will be prescribed by a team of specialist nurse prescribers, and patients will continue to receive clinical care and support from GPs and hospital stoma nurses.

How does it work?

The new Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Stoma Prescription Service will care for all stoma prescription needs and can provide telephone advice. Patients will remain under the care of the hospital stoma care team.

If you currently have a stoma, the service will contact you to explain how everything will work. Their staff know which stoma products you are currently using and have all the information they need to provide an efficient service and to make your transition.

Either your personal advisor will contact you via telephone, or you can contact the service by telephone, email or via the online order form (whichever you'd prefer). You will confirm how you want to have your prescription dispensed, and it will be sent to your pharmacy/surgery of choice, or delivered to you, within 48 hours. You can also change this at any time by talking to your personal advisor.

The way you receive your stoma products will not change unless requested by you.

Need more information?

You can contact the service on Freephone 0808 141 0824 Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, and Saturday 9am to 1pm (excluding bank holidays).
