Find out about the local support available for people living with Dementia, and those who care for them.

Memory Clubs

The memory clubs are for those living with dementia or symptoms of cognitive impairment whilst still living independently, albeit with intermittent support, in the community. 

Please note: participants are asked to make their own way to the memory clubs. Carers are encouraged to enjoy a period of respite while these Memory Club sessions take place.

Alzheimer’s Society Post Diagnostic Support Groups

Milton Keynes Adult Speech and Language Therapy Outpatient and Community Services

Alzheimer’s Society Side by Side

Side-by-Side is for people living with a dementia diagnosis and are paired up with volunteers who share similar interests so that they can continue to do things they love.  Contact the Alzheimer’s Society as above or visit their website.

MacIntyre Memory Cafe, Milton Keynes

This is held every fourth Tuesday of the month, from 10-12 noon, a friendly and sociable gathering for those living with dementia or learning difficulties and their carers, £2.50 including refreshments. Contact nicola.payne@macintyrecharity.org, or telephone 07823530100.  

The Parks Trust Dementia Friendly Coffee Mornings

New initiative held on the last Tuesday of each month, from 11-1pm at St Andrew’s Church, Great Linford, MK14 5AU.

Carers Group, Newport Pagnell

This volunteer run club runs fortnightly at the Brooklands Centre, Ousebank Street, Newport Pagnell, MK16 8AN. It is held on alternate Friday mornings 10-12 noon and is for those who care for loved ones living with dementia. Those being cared for are welcome too. Led by an Admiral Nurse, the sessions cost £1.50 and there’s always a raffle.  Contact on 01908 619919 or go to website.

Carers MK exists entirely to support the health and wellbeing of individuals from all backgrounds in Milton Keynes, who are caring for someone who cannot manage without them due to illness, physical disability, frailty, learning disability, mental health issues, addiction or additional needs.
