We want to hear from you about SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support

SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) inspection

From Monday 8 October, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission will be in Milton Keyenes to carry out an inspection of SEND services and will focus, and report, on the effectiveness of services to improve the outcomes of SEND.

They'll be evaluating how well Milton Keynes professionals identify the needs of children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, and how they meet those needs to improve outcomes for all.

The inspectors will be looking at local area records, speaking to area officers and leaders at educational settings, and speaking to children, young people and parents or carers.

Milton Keynes Council will receive a letter shortly afterwards setting out the inspectors' recommendations and at Healthwatch Milton Keynes we will look closely at those recommendations and how we might be able to work to inluence the implementation of any recommendations.

We have had some feedback from parents which we have fed into this review but we are interested to hear from more parents of 0-25 year olds with SEND. Share your experiences of local services and the support from health and social care services and this will help HWMK build a picture of how things could improve for you.
