About this event

Milton Keynes Council are looking to create a Community Support Service to complement a Recovery College in the future. This will be for anyone in the Milton Keynes area over the age of 18, who is experiencing mental distress.

What will the Recovery  College Community Support Service offer?

  • Practical support to help you in your recovery such as housing, finances, training and employment opportunities, social inclusion and leisure, life skills.
  • Greater confidence to manage your own mental wellbeing and support your recovery.
  • Support to find ways to create a meaningful and satisfying life.

To make it work, we need YOU!

Milton Keynes Council would like to know what help the Community Support Service should offer. What could aid a positive recovery from mental ill health? For example, some support might look at:

  • Support with your finances - accessing and maintaining benefits/ manage debt / budgeting skills.
  • Support with your housing - how can they support you to ensure you have somewhere suitable to live to help your recovery?
  • Life skills - maintaining a home /using public transport /ways to relax.
  • Support to develop hobbies or interests, and build a support network
  • Support with training and employment - course or job searches/ course or job applications/ writing a CV/ interview skills.

Your personal experience will help us to create a useful service that makes a difference to people's lives.
